They laboured day and night and attained fame and honour. We should amulet their examples. The proverb in illustrated by the story of Hercules and the carter. A carter was once driving his cart. Unfortunately, the cart got stuck in the muddy road. The carter did not try to push the cart but cried out to the god Hercules for help. Hercules appeared there and advised him to put this shoulders to the wheel. The carter did so, and the cart moved on. It was the result of self help. So we should do our work by ourselves. If we want to be successful in life we should learn to stand on our own legs. Self help is the best help. It helps us to work hard for success. A hard working man is never disappointed of success.
